Experts Warn Against Using Air Fryers Instead of Ovens

Technological advancements have definitely made their way into the kitchen. Today, more and more people are replacing their ovens with air fryers, which have become very popular appliances.

They have replaced slow cookers and work with hot air that circulates at a very high speed.

Air fryers are a healthier alternative to deep frying and give the same results, but with little or no oil.

However, culinary experts say that some foods should not be cooked in an air fryer.

While broccoli doesn’t do particularly well in this machine due to its taste compared to old-fashioned baking, other foods are the main concern.

For example, popcorn is a sure-fire faux pas for the air fryer due to its ignition potential, reports the Mirror. This is because the grains can get stuck in the air fryer's heating elements, which poses a serious fire hazard.

Another ingredient is wet batter. The crispy coating of fried chicken is something most chicken lovers enjoy, but an air fryer doesn't get hot enough for it to set properly, resulting in a messy and soggy dish.
