Mix well until smooth.
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture.
Mix until you have a soft, slightly sticky, but easy-to-work dough.
2. Roll out the dough
Lightly flour your work surface.
Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 4 to 5 mm.
Using a knife or pastry wheel, cut into strips, then shape into diamonds or rectangles.
Make a small slit in the center of each piece.
Pass one end of the dough through the slit to create a traditional twist.
3. Cooking the Doughnuts
Heat the oil in a saucepan or deep frying pan to approximately 170-175°C (340-350°F).
Fry the doughnuts in small batches in the hot oil.
Cook for approximately 1-2 minutes on each side until they are:
✔ golden brown
✔ slightly puffed up
✔ crispy on the outside
Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain.
4. Finishing Touches
While they are still warm, dust the doughnuts with granulated or powdered sugar, according to your preference.
