Add ground beef or sausage to the frying pan and fry until browned. Season with oregano, basil, salt and pepper.
Remove the frying pan from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Stir in the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese until well combined.
Fill each banana pepper with the meat and cheese mixture, making sure they are completely filled but not overfilled.
Place the stuffed peppers in a baking dish and pour marinara sauce over them.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes, until the peppers are tender and the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.
Let the peppers cool slightly before serving.
