Storing Leftovers

Refrigerate:

You can refrigerate any of the steak and potatoes you do not eat right away. Store in an airtight container for 3-4 days. Then you can reheat in the microwave or even in a skillet on the stovetop or even in the oven.

Freezing:

You can also freeze the leftovers if you would like. Place in your container and freeze for 2-3 months. Then reheat straight from the freezer or thaw in the fridge.

Tips for Crock Pot Steak and Potatoes

Browning Steak

You will find that searing the steak in a skillet is going to add texture to the steak but also lock in flavor as well. This is optional but I do recommend not skipping this step.

Seasoning

Make sure to season the mixture generously with the French onion soup mix as it is going to be the stand-out flavor in the dish.

Resting

Allow the steak to rest for 10-15 minutes once you remove it from the slow cooker. This will help lock in the juices to the meat when you go to slice it up.

Sure, you could sear the steaks first for extra flavor, and if you’ve got a few minutes to do it, go for it. But if not? Skip it. This dish forgives you. It’s low effort, high reward, and 100% one of those “why haven’t I been making this all along?” kind of recipes.
